Controlled weight removal. Clean refinement. No unnecessary extras.

The Foundation Thinning Scissor was built around a simple idea: a great thinning shear shouldn't have to cost $300+.

Its 30-tooth, tri-serrated design is made for controlled weight removal and refinement, giving you a consistent, predictable cut while maintaining control over how much hair you remove.

Lightweight and straightforward, the Foundation features a smooth hand-adjustable ball-bearing tension system and a slightly offset handle designed for comfortable, everyday use behind the chair.

Built from 440C stainless steel and hardened to an average of 58 HRC, the Foundation delivers the material quality and performance you expect from a professional thinning shear — without the premium price tag.

The price might get your attention. The performance is what makes it belong in your everyday setup.

Questions, answered

Still deciding? These are the ones we hear most.

What does a thinning shear do?+

Its 30 tri-serrated teeth are made for controlled weight removal and refinement — a consistent, predictable cut with control over exactly how much hair you take out.

Is there a left-handed version?+

Yes — a true left-handed build is available, with the blades and handle reversed.

What does the warranty cover?+

A lifetime warranty on parts against manufacturing faults. It does not cover wear, corrosion or damage caused by everyday use, dropping or improper sharpening.

How do I keep it performing?+

Wipe dry after every use and oil the pivot regularly. When the edges eventually soften, our sharpening service returns them to a factory finish.

What’s your returns policy?+

Unused items in their original packaging can be returned within 7 days of delivery — get in touch first and we’ll send you a free return label.
